How to Create and Share Video Content as a Creator

· 3 min read

This is how you can create and share video content as an individual content creator.

As I explained in one of the early posts of this series, there are three forms of content you can create:

  1. Text
  2. Video
  3. Audio

In my last few posts, I explained how you can create and share text content. Moving forward to Video, In today’s post, I will write about how you can create and share video content as an individual content creator.

What I have understood is that there is a three-step process for creating video content:

  1. Pre-Production
  2. Production
  3. Post Production

Pre-Production: It includes everything you need to do before you actually get into the production of the video—things like creating the script for your videos.

If you have already been creating text content, things will be much easier for you. Suppose you have written a text thread on Twitter; later, when you plan to create videos, you can use that thread as a rough script for your video. It will save you a lot of time.

This is what I have exactly done. I first started with text content on Twitter and now using those writeups as the script of my videos.

Production: When you have the script, you may need a few camera equipments to start with, things like Camera, Tripod, Microphone, and Lighting.

You can even use your smartphone camera. You can start with whatever resources you have and later upgrade equipments as your audience grows.

Post-Production: After you have shot the video, the next step is post-production. It includes things like Video editing and thumbnail designing.

If you are not good at post-production, you can outsource it. I actually do the same. I can edit videos, but I am mediocre at it, so I asked one of my close friends, who is a senior video editor, to edit videos for me.

Similarly, I am not good at designing thumbnails, so I asked one of my friends to create high-quality thumbnails. Similarly, you can also take help for other individuals for these tasks.

So, this is the three-step process you can follow to create video content. Now coming to share the video content. Most creators upload videos on just YouTube and share the link to the video on their other social media platforms.

There is nothing wrong with this approach, but my thoughts on this are completely different. I think if I am creating content to educate others, why not share my video content on every platform? So no matter where the audience is, they can watch the content without changing the platform.

There is one benefit in this approach no platform like its viewers to send to a different platform. So, if you upload your video content directly instead of sharing the link, there is a high chance that your video will get a wider reach.

That’s all I wanted to share about creating and sharing video content as an individual content creator. I hope some of you will find it useful.

Thanks for reading. Have a great day!
