Text, Video, or Audio: Which Form of Content to Create First

Read this post to know which form of content you should create as a beginner content creator.

In yesterday’s post, I explained when someone should start content creation. The best time to start creating content is when you have skills and some experience; then, you can start your content creation journey. Moving forward, in today’s post, I will write about the different forms of content you can create.

There are three forms of content that you can create as a content creator:

  1. Text
  2. Video
  3. Audio

Let me explain the best approach to proceed with each of these forms of content.

Text: If you want to start your content creation journey, there is no better way than starting with Text content. The other two forms, Video and Audio, require more effort and resources. At the same time, creating text content is much easier. That’s why I recommend that everyone starting their content creation journey start with text content. In 2017, when I was a beginner, I made the mistake of starting video content. I purchased expensive camera equipment only to stop creating content a year later. So that’s why when I decided to get into content creation again, I started with text content on Twitter. There are two ways you can create text content: start a personal blog or write on social media platforms like LinkedIn and Twitter.

Video: Video content consumption is at boom. Most people want to watch video content in comparison to reading text. So, creating video content will give you a wider reach. Also, video content helps build a solid personal brand, as people can see you in person and relate better with you. But the main problem is that video content requires a little more effort. You will be writing the script of your videos and then shooting them. Then you will need to get the video edited and a good thumbnail for your video. But once you get started, you will start enjoying all these processes.

Audio: You must have heard the term Podcast once in the last few years. Podcasting has existed for several years but has gained an immense population only in the last few years. Most of us like to consume Audio content while traveling or in other similar instances. If you want, you can also start creating Audio content. Creating audio content is a little harder among all the content forms. You will need an excellent podcasting setup with no noise at all. That’s why starting with Audio content is not a good idea when you are just starting your content creation journey.

So, these are the three forms of content you can create as a content creator. If you ask me, I suggest everyone start with text content and then get into video content creation. Ultimately, when you have built some audience on your socials and have the finances to invest in a podcasting setup, you can also expand to creating Audio content.
