Finding Direct Clients Using LinkedIn, Twitter or Facebook

· 3 min read

This is how you find direct clients for content writing using social media platforms like LinkedIn, Twitter or Facebook.

In yesterday's post I shared how you can find direct clients from the website's hiring page. Reaching out website owners through their hiring page should help you get direct clients in most situations.

However, one complaint beginners always have is most websites don’t have a hiring page and they don’t respond to emails sent to their contact email. This is where the second method which I suggested to find direct clients comes into play. You can use social media platforms like LinkedIn, Twitter, or Facebook to reach your prospect clients.

I hope you already have the list of websites ready within the niche you work as a content writer. If not, make a list of the websites you would love to work as a content writer. When you have the list ready visit those websites and do some research to find out the name of the founders, other individuals at management level or hiring person.

Now start looking if they have accounts on social media platforms like LinkedIn, Twitter or Facebook. Most founders are there on LinkedIn, if not you can try finding them on Twitter or Facebook as well.

When reaching website owners, don’t just go all out pitching out that you are looking to get a content writing job in your first message. Try to have a general conversation with them initially. Although you need work you should not appear desperate in your first conversation. While having the conversation you can ask if they have any requirement for a content writer.

If yes, then you can pitch that I offer content writing services and I have this much years of experience. They will most probably ask for your samples. Share your published work to prove your expertise. If they actually have a requirement they will most probably ask for a test article. While writing the test article try to give your best. If you have the skillset matching their standards you should get the opportunity.

Suppose, you contacted some 20 websites in your niche, it is most likely that at least a few of them will have requirements and they will give you a chance. The biggest mistake beginners make is they reach out to a few people and if they don’t make a response they stop reaching out to new people. My suggestion will be to keep reaching until you have contacted every single site within your niche.

I can confirm that this method works. I have personally found direct clients paying as high as 8 Rupees per word by just reaching out to them on social media. Give it a try and you will also get good direct clients. If you have any doubts around trying this approach feel free to reach out to me. I will make sure to help all of you with the best of my capabilities.

That’s all in this post. In tomorrow’s post I will write a dedicated post about using LinkedIn to get direct clients as it is my personal favourite to look for direct clients.

Thanks for reading this one. Have a great day!
