Avoid This Mistake to Prevent Your Fiverr Account Getting Disabled

Avoid this mistake to prevent your Fiverr account from getting disabled.

In yesterday’s post I suggested beginners joining Fiverr to not ask friends and family members to place initial orders on their Fiverr Gig. It does more harm than any good and may kill organic growth of your Gig. In today’s post I will write about a common mistake that you should avoid to prevent your Fiverr account from getting banned on the platform.

As most of you know freelance platforms like Fiverr charges 20% as platform fee from your order amount. Many beginner Fiverr sellers always keep looking for ways to avoid this fee. So when they receive orders on the platform they try to make a direct connection with the buyer outside Fiverr. It helps them get the payment directly using PayPal and avoid the platform's fees.

You may succeed initially doing this but sooner or later Fiverr will catch you doing these activities. Most of the time their system automatically catches these activities and at times buyers also report you for asking them to make direct connections. Once they come to know about it they will permanently disable your Fiverr account. All of the ratings and reviews you have received on your account will be gone forever.

Losing a Fiverr account is not the only thing that could go worse when making direct connections with clients. Not all clients are honest, you may end up working for a client and when the time will come for the payment the client will run away. So, it is another disadvantage of tricking Fiverr and making direct clients.

I am not writing this post just because I have read this somewhere I have personally gone through this situation. Back in 2020 when I started working on Fiverr I received huge success on the platform. I had got 50+ orders for Website Development in less than three months. I was making over 1 Lakh Indian Rupees every month.

But I was making the same mistake: I was asking clients to make direct connections. I used to take entire payments through PayPal and was asking clients to place an order for just $5 on Fiverr so they could rate and review my services. It worked well for the first three months and I was successfully tricking the system.

Later, in August 2020, one of my clients raised a complaint against me. When Fiverr support staff went through my account they found that I was making direct connections so they disabled my account immediately. I tried reaching their support with no luck. I had lost a revenue stream which was giving a good amount of income.

I made this mistake because I was not very aware of the Fiverr terms and conditions. If I had read a similar post like this one back in 2020 I wouldn't have made the mistake. That’s why I wanted to write this post so all of you reading it don’t make the same mistake as I did.

That’s all I have to write in this post. I hope you learned something valuable from it.

Thanks for reading. Have a great day.
