This is how you should select the niche of your first Blog.

In the last couple of posts, I gave an idea of Blogging and its potential to grow into a digital media business. I am hopeful that some of you guys understood my points.

Moving forward, with today’s post, I will start sharing the strategies you can follow to start your first Blog, which you can later grow into a digital media brand. So let’s get started.

As soon as you think about starting your Blog, the very first thing you decide is the topic of your blog. Some people also like it to call with the term “Niche.” It is basically what your blog will be all about and which sub-topics your blog will be covering.

The success of your blog vastly ties to your selected niche. So, it becomes of utmost importance to select a niche that has the potential to grow immensely.

Selecting the Niche is where most beginners struggle with, and that’s why most beginner bloggers fail miserably very soon and quit Blogging even before they can receive their first income.

Dozens of Bloggers reach out to me on LinkedIn, Twitter, and YouTube every week. Almost all of them ask me about which niche they should be working on.

They expect an answer from me, and I become helpless. I may have some niches in my mind for me, but it’s not possible that a beginner can work on that niche.

So the burning question is what is the correct approach to select a Niche for the first Blog? Let me answer it.

In my opinion, if you are a beginner and looking to start your first blog, then you should go with a Niche in which you have passion, interest, and knowledge.

As you are just starting out, it is certain that you will be writing content on your Blog. What I think Blogging is 80% quality content and 20% rest things like SEO.

So the biggest challenge ahead of you is content. If you pick a niche and you don’t know about it, you will find it really hard to write articles. You will very soon get bored and stop writing. As soon as you stop writing, your blog will take the path to the death.

That’s why I highly recommend everyone to start their first blog in a niche in which you are personally excited and contribute high-quality content.

Now the next question arrives is how to identify that interest. I will suggest you to take a sheet of paper and go through your past and write down the topics around which you like to consume content. You will come out with at least a few niche ideas. Among those niches, select the one which you are most excited about.

When I did this practice back in 2017 to decide the niche of my Blog, I found I have an interest in two topics: Cricket, Tech.

Among these two niches, I was most excited about Tech, so I went with it. Similarly, you should do this practice, and you will soon be able to decide your niche.
