Which Blogging Platform Should You Choose for Your Blog?

· 3 min read

Wondering which Blogging platform you should choose for your Blog? Here is the answer.

In yesterday’s post, I wrote about how you should select the Niche of your first blog. I hope some of you will find it helpful when deciding the niche of your Blog.

Moving forward, once you have decided the niche of your blog, the next thing you need to decide is the Blogging platform you will use to set up your Blog.

The Blogging platform will be basically the backend of your blog from where you will manage everything. You can think of it as the operating system of your blog.

In the very early days of Blogging, it was important to have the knowledge of coding and programming to set up a Blog, but those days are long gone.

Now we have a bunch of platforms to set up a blog with no technical knowledge at all. Some of the most popular ones are WordPress, Blogger, Wix, Square Space, Weebly, etc.

Among all these, the most popular and the one I recommend is WordPress. You can understand the popularity of WordPress by the fact that it powers more than 40% of all the live websites on the Internet.

Many bloggers make the mistake of starting their Blog with platforms like Squarespace, Wix, and Weebly, only to go through the hassle of migrating their site to WordPress later on.

I am not saying these platforms are not good; they may work for some, but no one comes even close to the reliability and ease of use of WordPress.

Most importantly, as WordPress is so popular, there is a huge community of bloggers using WordPress for their blogs. It means if you get stuck in the process, you can always take the help of the community.

You can easily find tutorials on YouTube around almost any topic related to WordPress. This is how I learned WordPress to build every single Blog I own today.

Among all the platforms has the highest number of Themes and Plugins. You can easily find a suitable theme and plugins for free.

What sets WordPress apart is it is open-source and free to use. So, it doesn’t lock users to buy domains and hosting from them. You can get your domain name and host from anywhere.

Due to its popularity, every Hosting provider either installs WordPress automatically or gives the option for a one-click installation.

These are some of the reasons why you should be using WordPress. I can give you 100 more reasons for using WordPress but let’s conclude them.

So, if you ask me about which Blogging platform to use, the only recommendation I have is WordPress.

That’s all in this post.

Thanks for reading. Have a great day!
