Starting My Journey as a Content Creator Again

· 4 min read

Yesterday, I sought help from my readers, asking if I should start my journey as a content creator again.

That post received over 2500 impressions, and more than 25 friends commented. Those comments summed up as Yes, I should do it. First of all, thank all of you for taking the time and giving me that much-needed get start in this journey.

So here I am starting my content creation journey, where I will share my experiences and learnings in Blogging, running a Digital Media Business, and Freelancing.

As I mentioned yesterday, my online journey started as a Tech Content Creator on YouTube in September 2017. Taking back even a few more years back, It was 2012 when I got access to an Internet phone for the first time. Within a month, I came across YouTube and fell in love with the platform. I used to stream content on a small screen phone with 2G Internet. That content consumption continued until July 2015 when one guy in my friend circle said he is making money from YouTube. I asked how he was able to do it. Instead of explaining the process, he said he would charge some 10000 Rupees to teach me that thing.

As a 16-17-year-old boy, I didn't have access to that much money, so there was no way I could agree to it. Later that day, I returned home and searched for how to Make Money from YouTube for the very first time. The first video that I came across was from Prasad Vedpathak. He has explained everything about making money from YouTube. Including creating a YouTube channel and uploading videos to sign up for the Google Adsense account. I watched the video and created some random YouTube channels.

The lesson I learned from it is everything is accessible for free on the Internet. If you want to learn something, there is no barrier. Even today, most beginners fall into getting costly courses thinking they will start making money from YouTube. But that's not the only possible way. If I can learn the process back in 2015 when such videos were rarely available on The Internet. Then you can also learn it in 2023 as more free content is available on the platform. You can learn anything, be it a new skill, content creation, or anything else.

Coming back to our story, I didn't know what content I should create back then, so I started uploading videos downloaded from YouTube alone. Back then, every new channel on YouTube was monetized from day one. My videos got some views, and I made a few cents. That feeling of making money from YouTube was terrific, but it didn't last long. As I was in 12th standard and I had to study for my exams. I stopped uploading videos. But a silly mistake I made was I deleted all the YouTube channels I had created then. It would have been such a nostalgia today if I hadn't done that.

After deleting those channels, I kept thinking about how I could do something on YouTube. I kept thinking about it for the entire of 2016, even after my exams. It wasn't until March-April 2017 that a video I watched on YouTube led me to start things again. This post is already getting long, so I would like to continue the story and learnings in upcoming posts.

On that note, I am signing up as today is the very first day of the new year. I wish all of you a healthy, wealthy, and prosperous new year. Thank you again for taking your time and reading my journey. Bye!

I will leave all of you with a question. Have you also experienced a similar incident where you want to learn any skill from someone instead of helping you discover that thing? They decided to take some monetary benefit and didn't help you.
