The YouTube Video That Shaped My Upcoming Years

· 3 min read

I ended my last post by writing that a YouTube video I watched in April 2023 shaped my upcoming years.

The story is, at that time, I had a Pulsar RS200 Bike, One day, I was scrolling YouTube and came across a motor vlogging video in which some bikers were going from Mumbai to Bangalore. One of those bikes was Pulsar RS 200, the one I had. I clicked on the video and started watching it. Would you like to know who uploaded that video?

He was none other than the famous vlogger Mumbaiker Nikhil.

Back in the day, his most uploads were motor vlogs. After watching that video, I subscribed to him for future such videos.

This was when he was also getting into uploading daily vlogs around his life happenings. Within a week, he flew to Dubai and created a vlog. In his vlog, he showed Dubai's huge buildings, big cars, and luxurious lifestyle.

All those shiny objects left an impression on my mind. I started thinking I also wanted to experience such things in my life. I thought Mumbaiker Nikhil could only do it because of YouTube, and I could also do it If I became a YouTuber.

In the very same vlog, he met Gaurav Chaudhary, a.k.a Technical Guruji. That was the day I came across the T.G. channel. I browsed his channel and found he uploads Tech videos. I was always into Electronics, the Internet, and technology. My mind was already making up to become a YouTuber. As soon as I found those videos, I told myself that if he could do it, I could also do it.

I started exploring YouTube, learning more about starting a Tech YouTube channel, the equipment needed, creating a catchy thumbnail, and video editing. As these things took time and I couldn't wait for it, I again started some random YouTube channels. I used to upload downloaded YouTube videos. They didn't work as YouTube had recently brought a manual review for its Partner Program.

It took me another five months to learn how to start a Tech YouTube channel. By September 2017, I had bought a DSLR, Tripod, Microphone to shoot my videos, a MacBook Air to edit them, and an Honor 8 Pro smartphone. When everything was set up, I started trying to shoot the videos. My two younger brothers started helping me shoot those videos. For them, I was nothing less than a very popular YouTube creator.

Earlier, it felt easy, but things were challenging when I was actually doing it. I shot dozens of videos but wasn't satisfied with any of them. Lastly, I was fed up and ended up uploading my first video, unboxing my Honor 8 Pro smartphone.

It was far from perfect but sufficient to give me that start.

This was the initial journey of starting my first personal YouTube channel. I will continue what happened after that first video in the upcoming posts. So, please stay tuned for that.

Does anyone among my readers have a YouTube channel? If yes, what was your experience starting it? Thanks!
