Growing an Expired Domain to 100k Monthly Page Views

This is how I grew an expired domain to 100k monthly page views from Tier 1 countries.

In my last post, I shared some tips for acquiring expired domains. In today's post I will share how I grew my first expired domain to 100k monthly page views and that from countries like the United States, United Kingdom.

I have already shared that I acquired that particular expired domain from Dan.com for $725 in October 2021. I was skeptical paying that much for a domain but at the end bought it to see how things goes.

The domain reached in my GoDaddy account on 15th October. I started the project on 19th October. The goal was to publish one quality article every day. As it was a Tech blog all the articles were either based on some trending tech topics or classic topic with searches all the time.

In the first three weeks itself the site starts showing some great results. On 6 November, It received 100+ visitors for the first time. The number grown to 610 daily visitors by 17 November. Overall, In November the site got over 8k visitors. It was pretty insane for a new site.

Seeing the success I kept publishing more and more articles. In December 2021, the site reached 12k users. It was a comparatively slow month. However, January compensated it with 28k visitors.

In Feb, the number grown to 35k users. Next month in March, It reached 42k visits. The number grown to 62k visitors in April. In May 2021, it reached 80k users with over 100k page views. It was an astonishing results for a new site. Most importantly the traffic was from Tier-1 countries.

For monetization, I was using Adsense and on this much traffic the revenue per month was around $1000.

In my understanding, the reason for this growth was because of three reasons: Expired Domain, Covering untapped keywords, Publishing one article everyday.

If you are also looking to start a new website I am very sure this strategy will work. Even if you can't find a good expired domain and want to start on a fresh one the later two strategies will work wonders. Find Untapped keywords and publish one article everyday for the next six months and you will definitely see great results. In case you need any help in the process feel free to ping me.
